Sarah Lawrence College continued its impressive 2026 season Saturday, earning a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. The Gryphons opened the match with a 25-17 win before Drew answered with a 25-23 second-set victory. Sarah Lawrence responded in two extremely tight sets, winning the third 29-27 and the fourth 28-26 to close out the match.
The match featured an offensive battle, with Sarah Lawrence finishing with 65 kills and 63 assists across the four sets. Drew recorded 50 kills and 47 assists, but the Gryphons consistently found ways to make key plays late in the final two sets. The third set required extra points before Sarah Lawrence finally secured the 29-27 decision, and the fourth followed the same pattern as the Gryphons held off Drew 28-26.
The victory improved Sarah Lawrence to 10-1 on the season, with the Gryphons' only loss coming against Stevens. Drew fell to 3-8 following the four-set defeat. Sarah Lawrence will return to action October 1 when it travels to Brooklyn College for a Skyline Conference matchup.
