St. Joseph’s University, Long Island picked up its third win of the 2026 season Saturday afternoon, defeating Centenary University 3-1 in Hackettstown, New Jersey. The Golden Eagles wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, as Yamileth Fuentes scored just 4:43 into the match with assists from Samantha Villavicencio and Sophia Cagnetto. Jocelyn Forseth doubled the advantage in the 25th minute, finishing a pass from Bella Sweet to give St. Joseph’s a 2-0 lead at halftime.
Centenary cut the deficit in half in the 61st minute when Elizabeth Fogarty found the back of the net, but St. Joseph’s responded in the 78th minute to restore its two-goal cushion. Julia Dunne scored her second goal of the season off an assist from Gabriela Saravia, giving the Golden Eagles a 3-1 advantage that they would maintain through the final whistle.
St. Joseph’s dominated the match offensively, finishing with a 23-1 advantage in shots and putting 14 attempts on target. The Golden Eagles also held a 6-0 edge in corner kicks, while Centenary goalkeeper made 11 saves to keep the game competitive. The victory moved St. Joseph’s to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
