Sarah Lawrence College continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season Wednesday night, defeating CCNY 4-1 at Fleming Field. The Gryphons took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute when Katherine Varghese finished a pass from Sadie Colvin, sending Sarah Lawrence into halftime with the advantage.
The Gryphons broke the game open early in the second half. Colvin doubled the lead just 1:33 after halftime, before Chloe Barker added another goal in the 63rd minute. Emily Barrientos then found the back of the net in the 68th minute, with Nicaia Sharp providing the assist to put Sarah Lawrence ahead 4-0. CCNY's Yessenia Yascaribay scored in the 85th minute to get the Beavers on the board, but Sarah Lawrence closed out the victory.
Sarah Lawrence controlled the match offensively, outshooting CCNY 20-3 and putting 12 shots on target compared with three for the Beavers. The Gryphons also held a 5-0 advantage in corner kicks. CCNY goalkeeper Jade Salas made eight saves, while Sarah Lawrence goalkeepers Arwen Browne and Bella Vaca combined for two saves. The victory moved the Gryphons to 2-0-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
