Mount Saint Mary's Rolls Past SUNY Delhi

Mount Saint Mary College women’s soccer continued its recent turnaround Wednesday night, rolling past SUNY Delhi, 5-0, on the road. The Knights jumped out to an early lead when Grace Morra finished a cross from Faith Welsh and Hailey Diaz in the fourth minute. Mount added another goal in the 39th minute when Kaitlyn Shotter fired a shot from the top of the box, sending the Knights into halftime with a 2-0 advantage.

Morra continued to lead the Mount offense after halftime, scoring again in the 50th minute off assists from Isabella Milburn and Welsh. Shotter added her second goal just over four minutes later, with Morra and Milburn providing the assists. Morra completed her hat trick with just 12 seconds remaining, finishing the night with three goals and two assists for a career-high eight points.

The Knights controlled the match offensively, outshooting Delhi 13-7 and putting 10 attempts on target compared to four for the Broncos. Welsh recorded a career-high three assists, while Milburn finished with a career-best two assists. Mount also received four saves from Julianna Ewashko in the first half before Elizabeth Lennane took over in the second half and recorded a save to preserve the shutout. The victory moved Mount Saint Mary to 3-3-0 on the season and extended its winning streak to three games.
