Maritime Bests Lehman

Maritime College picked up its first win of the 2026 season Wednesday evening, defeating Lehman College 4-1 at South Field in the Bronx. The Privateers took control late in the opening half after both teams traded goals, with Divine Awoleke opening the scoring in the 30th minute before Lehman answered just 1:40 later through Emily Huerta. Emani Abdool restored Maritime's lead in the 41st minute, giving the Privateers a 2-1 advantage at halftime.

Maritime continued to control the match after the break, with Eva Garcia extending the lead in the 77th minute. Garcia finished the night with a goal and an assist, setting up Abdool's first-half tally. Daniella Jimenez added an insurance goal in the 87th minute to complete the scoring and give Maritime a three-goal victory.

The Privateers finished with a 13-5 advantage in shots and put nine attempts on target compared with four for Lehman. Abdool recorded three shots and two shots on goal, while Garcia led Maritime with four shots and three shots on target. Goalkeeper Devon Etienne made three saves while allowing one goal, and Lehman's Katelyn Rice finished with five saves.
