Manhattanville University women's soccer picked up its first victory of the 2026 season Tuesday afternoon, defeating Penn State Brandywine 2-0 in Media, Pennsylvania. The Valiants controlled the opening half and finally broke through with just 36 seconds remaining before halftime, as Johanna Gibson scored off an assist from Jennay Amaral to give Manhattanville a 1-0 advantage at the break.
Manhattanville continued to dictate play after halftime and doubled its lead in the 64th minute. Drita Tinaj found the back of the net for her first goal of the season, putting the Valiants ahead 2-0. The Manhattanville defense then closed out the match without allowing Penn State Brandywine to generate a serious threat in the final 45 minutes.
The Valiants finished with a commanding 27-7 advantage in shots and put 13 attempts on target compared with four for Penn State Brandywine. Gibson led Manhattanville with six shots and three shots on goal, while Jazleen Vega added four shots and three on target. Goalkeepers Elliott Allen and Gabrielle Billetz combined for the shutout, with Allen making all four of Manhattanville's saves.
