Farmingdale State women's soccer put together one of its biggest offensive performances of the season Wednesday night, defeating Maritime College 12-1 in a Skyline Conference matchup at Rams Field. The Rams scored three times in the opening half before erupting for nine goals after halftime, improving to 5-2-1 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play.
Jenna Biondo opened the scoring in the seventh minute off an assist from Katelyn Nunziato, who later added a goal of her own. Farmingdale continued to spread the scoring around throughout the match, with the Rams ultimately finding the net 12 times. The offensive outburst came just three days after Farmingdale was held scoreless in a 7-0 loss to Scranton, providing a strong response in its return to conference play.
Maritime managed to get on the scoreboard with a first-half goal, but Farmingdale's pressure proved too much over the final 45 minutes. The Rams finished with a commanding 12-1 victory and moved to 2-0 in Skyline play, while Maritime dropped to 2-3-1 overall and 1-1 in conference action.
