St. Joseph’s vs Farmingdale
St. Joseph’s pulled out a major win to finish the season over Farmingdale who had been red hot up to this point. St. Joseph’s managed to keep the ball on Farmingdale’s side of the field for the majority of the game, they had 10 more shots on goal and went 14-5 in draws. Despite that Farmingdale did mount a 4th quarter comeback where they cut the lead down to just 1 with Carly Livingston scoring her 4th goal with just under 50 seconds left, then St. Joseph’s managed to win the face-off and take the clock down to under 25 seconds when they turned the ball over, giving Farmingdale one last chance with 12 seconds left. Farmingdale didn’t manage to get a shot off, with St. Joseph’s defense locking in and sealing the win. St. Joseph’s was led by Sabrina Doyle with 3 goals, then by Taylor Metzler and Julia Stolba with 2 goals and 2 assists each, Gianna DArienzo and Kaitlyn Ippolito brought in 1 goal each, while Ippolito added 2 assists. For Farmingdale Carly Livingston led the team with 4 goals and 1 assist, followed by Kailee Coppola with 2 goals, then by Rylee Valenzano and Sabrina Middleton with 1 goal. Giavanna Stamatelo was a major reason Farmingdale was able to stay in the game, she picked up 15 saves in the game, for St. Joseph’s Maggie Harding with the help of her defense managed to hold the usually high scoring Farmingdale to just 8 goals. Both these teams are primed for a solid playoff run, with both teams being 6-2 don’t be surprised if they run into each other again in the playoffs!
