ST. JOSEPH'S ADVANCES AFTER DEFEATING MANHATTANVILLE

St. Joseph’s vs Manhattanville-

            St. Joseph’s advances to the semi-finals after defeating Manhattanville in a hard-fought playoff game 17-12. Both teams battled, but an explosive second quarter gave St. Joseph’s a 12-5 lead, which proved too much for Manhattanville to overcome. Outside of that second quarter the game was very competitive, with Manhattanville actually winning the second half, but in the end St. Joseph’s was just too much for them to overcome. St. Joseph’s was led by Taylor Metzler who had an explosive game with a game high 7 goals and 1 assist, followed by Kaitlyn Ippolito with 4 goals, then Gianna DArienzo and Sabrina Doyle with 2 goals each, Emily Grace Passaro had a game high 6 assists while also bringing in 1 goal, then Kayla Sodano finished off the scoring for St. Joseph’s with 1 goal, Maggie Harding was in the net and she managed to pick up 8 saves and was key to their victory. For Manhattanville, they battled and Kathleen O’Mara showed up to play yet again, bringing in 4 goals, she was followed by Pietra Cabral with 3 goals and 1 assist, then by Bridget Sonju with 2 goals and 1 assist, Jocelyn Mazo, Ashley Glass and Kaci Pierce also brought in 1 goal each. Manhattanville never gave up and they fought hard, but St. Joseph’s offense was just too much for them to overcome. St. Joseph’s will now take on USMMA in the semi-finals.
