MOUNT SAINT MARY'S ADVANCES PAST UMSV

Mount Saint Mary’s vs UMSV-

            Mount Saint Mary’s advances to the semi-finals after defeating a tough UMSV team 9-4. The first half was extremely tight with both teams locking down on defense with a halftime score of 3-2 for Mount Saint Mary’s, but in the second half Mount Saint Mary’s just overwhelmed UMSV scoring 3 goals in each quarter sealing the victory. Mount Saint Mary’s was led by Shannon McGowan with 5 goals, followed by Kasey Senior and Delisianna Naccarato with2 goals each, while Naccarato added 3 assists, Peyton Curley was in the net and she picked up 4 saves and only allowed 4 goals. UMSV caps off an up and down season, but they showed grit and proved that they could compete with top teams in the conference, AB Burnett led the team with 2 goals, while Isabelle Gurley and Divana Carillo had 1 goal each, Makenna Reekie had a stellar game in the net picking up 10 saves which kept UMSV in the game. Mount Saint Mary’s will now take on the Farmingdale in the semi-finals.
