FARMINGDALE SCOUTING REPORT
Farmingdale enters this championship game slight underdogs against a tough USMMA team. Farmingdale has been a force all season, they finished the season winning 5 of their last 6 games, while going 6-2 in conference play. All season they have been solid offensively, but on defense they have really dominated teams, they have managed to hold their last 5 opponents to just 25 goals combined, with their goalie Giavanna Stamatelo being a huge reason for that, she has 151 saves this season and has been stellar in big games for them with 10 saves in their overtime win over Mount Saint Mary’s last game. Although they are a stellar defensive team, they will need to score in order to defeat USMMA, luckily, they have a solid offense as well.
Carly Livingston has led this team offensively with 54 goals and 44 assists, she will be essential if they are to win, Carly was the Skyline Offensive Player of the Year this season and can turn the tide of the game at any time. Emily Sohm was extremely clutch for Farmingdale this season she was second in goals and managed to get Farmingdale to this championship by scoring the game tying and game winning goal against Mount Saint Mary’s, she is one of the most solid offensive players on the team. Then Kailee Coppola has been just solid for this team, she had 24 goals and 14 assists for this team, with 15 of her 24 goals coming in the last 6 games, she seems to have found her stride, she is just another weapon Farmingdale has to spread the field. Molly Espey, Jordyn Neu and Rylee Valenzano are also key offensively, but Espy and Valenzano are key for draw controls, if Farmingdale is to win, they need to keep the ball in their hands and not let USMMA get going.
Farmingdale is going to try and break USMMA’s 10 game winning streak tomorrow, it will be very interesting to see what adjustments each team make and to see who comes out on top!
