USMMA WINS THE CHAMPIONSHIP

USMMA vs Manhattanville-

            USMMA are Skyline Conference Champions after an incredible game, that came down to the wire. The game came down to the final seconds, Emily Grasseler managed to knock down a turn around jump shot from the key to put USMMA up by three points, then a missed lay-up gave the ball back to USMMA which looked to be the end for Manhattanville, but their stellar defense managed to force a travel with just under 20 seconds left. USMMA locked in on defense and managed to grab the rebound off another missed lay-up, forcing Manhattanville to foul. USMMA made one of the two free throws handing them the Skyline Championship! USMMA was led by Emily Grasseler who had 21 points and Carolae Barton who went off for 17 points and 26 rebounds, followed by Breanna Sommers with 12 points and Hannah Ramsden with 10 points. For Manhattanville they were led by Gabby Tucker with 15 points and 5 assists, followed by Amanda Orlando with 13 points and Kathleen O’Mara with 12 points. USMMA did exactly what they had to do to win, they dominated on the boards, winning the rebounding battle 48-23, with Carolae Barton outrebounding the entire Manhattanville team. Manhattanville came up short here, but had an unbelievable season, they will be back in force next season. USMMA gets their championship, Emily Grasseler and Carolae Barton are now building some of the best careers in USMMA history, and Hannah Ramsden and Breanna Sommers both did what they had to do to bring USMMA over the top.
