USMMA vs Bates-
USMMA’s season comes to an end after falling to #12 Bates in the first round of the NCAA Tournament 71-57. USMMA fought hard, but a slow start cost them in the end, they were down 24-9 after the first quarter, then after that managed to play them fairly evenly. USMMA struggled shooting the ball, just shooting 35% from the field, but they made up for it on defense forcing 14 turnovers which resulted in 16 points. Hannah Ramsden led USMMA in her final game of her stellar career with 18 points and 4 rebounds, followed by Breanna Sommers with 13 points and 3 rebounds, then by Emily Grasseler with 12 points and 7 rebounds, then by Carolae Barton with yet another double-double, 12 points and 12 rebounds. USMMA isn’t done despite losing Hannah Ramsden next year, they have Emily Grasseler and Carolae Barton both returning, both these girls are potentially the best player in the conference and it’s hard to see any team you would pick over them going into next season. They had another stellar year and will look to make it to their third straight NCAA tournament next season. They have now won 20+ games in back-to-back seasons and are putting the Skyline Conference on the map with big wins early in the season. Congratulations to USMMA on a stellar season we look forward to covering them next season.
