St. Joseph's wins over UMSV as Perez Goes Off for 36

St. Joseph’s vs UMSV-

            St. Joseph’s defeated UMSV in a close game 54-49. The story of this game really is the unbelievable performance by Mercedes Perez of St. Joseph’s who had 36 od St. Joseph’s 54 points, she was playing unbelievable basketball, she was 6-11 from three-point land and 8-8 on the foul line. St. Joseph’s also locked up on defense securing 13 steals which resulted in 24 points for the Bears. UMSV did have some bright spots despite their 26 turnovers and poor shooting, Ashley Marrocco and Grace Giacinto had 11 points, with Giacinto securing 5 rebounds and 3 assists as well. Perez willed her team to victory and that is the story of todays game. St. Joseph’s moves to 3-6 in conference play as UMSV falls to 1-7.
