Purchase Comes Back Defeating St. Joseph's in OT

Purchase vs St. Joseph’s-

            Purchase defeats St. Joseph’s in an overtime thriller after an incredible fourth quarter comeback. Purchase had a true team win with ten players scoring, only one of them had double figures, Charlize Giles with 11 points. Both teams struggled to shoot with both teams shooting under 30% from the field, St. Joseph’s had 27 turnovers which costed them 17 points to Purchase. Despite the poor shooting performances from both teams Madelyn Barone managed to pick up a double-double trying to will her team over the top with 21 points and 10 rebounds, she was followed by Isabelle Lebron with 10 points. Barone had managed to tie it up after St. Joseph’s gave up the lead in the fourth quarter when she made a shot with just 3 seconds left, but in overtime St. Joseph’s got a great look with just a few seconds left off their inbound play, but the defense managed to tip the ball and their shot came up just short handing the game to Purchase. St. Joseph’s falls to 4-6 in conference play as Purchase moves to 6-4.
