Mount Saint Mary's Beats USMMA in Overtime Thriller

Mount Saint Mary’s vs USMMA-

            Two of the best teams in the conference faced off tonight and the game did not disappoint, Mount Saint Mary’s and USMMA are now tied in the conference with 8-2 records after an overtime thriller. Both teams battled back and forth, but as the game looked to be coming to a close USMMA up by 3 with just a few seconds left on the clock after clutch free throws from Emily Grasseler, Gabby Ziegenbalg hit a buzzer beater three-point shot to send it to overtime. Mount Saint Mary’s was led by an incredible performance from Brianna Guglielmo who dropped 34 points and picked up 4 assists (one of them being to Ziegenbalg in the finals seconds of regulation), Angelina Donato followed with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. USMMA didn’t go quietly despite an unusually bad shooting game, shooting just 7% from behind the arch. The USMMA big three all came to play with Carolae Barton and Emily Grasseler both picking up yet another double-double, Barton had a team high 34 points and 18 rebounds, while Grasseler had 16 points and 12 rebounds. Hannah Ramsden had a solid 13 points and 5 rebounds. Mount Saint Mary’s managed to win their 4^th straight game by pulling away in over time. Both these teams are clear contenders to win the championship this year.
