MARITIME FALLS TO SCRANTON IN THE NCAA's

Maritime vs Scranton-

            Maritime falls in the first round of the NCAA tournament after losing to Scranton. Maritime got off to a hot start and looked determined to win this game; they took a 4-1 lead in the first quarter and held on going into half time leading 7-5. Scranton just wore down Maritime in the third quarter, tying the game up, but Maritime wasn’t done Nick Uzakewicz scored late in the fourth quarter giving Maritime a 14-13 lead, but then with just over a minute left Scranton tied the game up sending them to overtime. In overtime Maritime just couldn’t find the net and Scranton pulled out the win 15-14. Maritime was led by Ryan Hannaford with 4 goals and 2 assists, then by Thomas McCarvill and Tyler Mahood with 3 goals each, followed by Nick Uzakewicz, Jack Horodiski, Nick LiPuma and Michael Weigand with 1 goal each, Cristian Scaffaro was solid in the net, picking up 10 saves. Maritime caps off a stellar year coming up just short in the NCAAs, but they will enter next year with a lot of their key players returning making them an early favorite in the Skyline Conference.
