Yeshiva vs Old Westbury-
Yeshiva remains perfect in Skyline play as they defeat SUNY Old Westbury in the first round of the playoffs. Yeshiva had it absolutely going last night, they shot 53% from the field and 50% from behind the arc, it’s hard to beat any team who shoots the ball that well. On defense they held Old Westbury to just 29% shootings and 9% from behind the arc. Player of the year Zevi Samet came to play, he dropped 27 points and 5 rebounds, followed by Yoav Oselka with 18 points and 7 rebounds, then finally by Roy Itcovichi with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Old Westbury had a miraculous turn around this season, halfway through the year no one could have thought that they would get a playoff spot. Christian Thomas and Jermain King Jr. led them tonight with 10 points each, King Jr.’s stellar second half of the season is one of the main reasons behind their success late in the year. For Yeshiva it is championship or bust this year and they have the tools to pull it off.
