University of Mount Saint Vincent

Preseason report 2025

Mount Saint Vincent is coming off an average year losing too Sarah Lawrence in the first round of the Skyline Playoffs last year, they finished the season 9-17 overall and 6-10 in the Skyline Conference. Last season they managed to make the playoffs by beating teams towards the bottom of the conference but having less success against the top tier teams. They enter this season a new team though losing their top four scorers. This means some of the returning players will have to step up in order to get this team back to the playoffs.

One of the key returning players is Alex Chi who averaged 6.8 points and 1.5 rebounds, he’s a 6’2 junior who the team will look for leadership from. Another returning player is Aidan McCahey who averaged 3.8 points and 2.8 rebounds, but one of his best assets is his passing he was 3rd in assists on the team last season. Blake Salice-Mitchell and Eric Woodberry also return as they look to step up their roles, both averaged around 4 points and 4 rebounds. All these players will have to step up in order to replace the loss of their core last year DJ Tucker, Max DePina, Josiah Basket and Kevin Agyemong who all averaged above 10 points last season.

It’s hard to count any team out when it is led by Coach James Mooney who is one of the most successful coaches and players in Mount Saint Vincent history. James Mooney is the all-time leading scorer for the Dolphins and has also led them to multiple Skyline playoff appearances in his previous 8 seasons. They open up against Oswego State November 7th. We will see how they can replace the lost players from last year and build a new core!

McGovern Sports and Media Prediction-
