Purchase picks up a big conference win as they defeat St. Joseph’s after an explosive offensive performance, scoring 90 points. Maurice Western led Purchase with 23 points and 4 assists, followed by Trey Skeete with 18 points and 7 assists. Chris Hunter had 16 points and Desmond Ward had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. St. Joseph’s was led by Kenny Rodriguez with 25 points and 6 rebounds, despite his performance ball security proved to be a problem for St. Joseph’s, as they turned the ball over 19 times giving Purchase 25 easy points. AJ Esposito and Corey Sommervil had a solid 13 points for St. Joseph’s. Both these teams have been a bit streaky this season, but Purchase managed to be the hot team tonight shooting 48% and moving to 5-6 in conference play as St. Joseph’s falls to 5-5.
