Old Westbury vs St. Joseph’s-
Old Westbury picks up their first conference win after an incredible performance by Jermaine King Jr. who put up 28 points and 8 assists against St. Joseph’s Brooklyn. King Jr. wasn’t the only one who came to play for the Old Westbury squad though, Imole Akinwale dropped 21 points and picked up 7 rebounds, while Yigit Balta had a solid 10 points and 4 assists. King Jr. managed to get to the line 11 times and knock down 10 of them, while also hitting 4 three-point shots showing he could score in different ways. St. Joseph’s wasn’t an easy opponent though, off the bench Maven Cummings came in and dropped 23 points and 6 rebounds, he was followed by Jacob Idowu with 16 points and Colin Mills with a solid 13 points. Finally, Justin Munson had 11 points and 9 rebounds one short of a double-double. Shooting hurt St. Joseph’s greatly as they only hit 15% of their three-point attempts. St. Joseph’s has gotten better each week, and it will be interesting to see how they finish the year. Old Westbury may have found a key offensive piece with Jermaine King Jr. Old Westbury moves to 1-2 in conference play as St. Joseph’s falls to 0-3.
