Maritime Bests USMMA in Rivalry Game

Maritime vs USMMA-

            Maritime has a big win tonight against their conference rival USMMA in a close game. The game started off ugly with both teams struggling to protect the ball, but eventually Maritime’s press proved to be too much, and they managed to record 11 steals many of which happened in the back court. Zion Williams was key for Maritime in the first half he made a few big three’s and got to the basket at will, he finished with 16 points and 4 rebounds, Jake Devaney started off the came cold but found his groove in the second half recording 22 points and 7 rebounds. Tyler Anderson picked up 8 assists and 10 points along with Evan Block who recorded 10 points and 9 rebounds. USMMA was led by Mason Lavergne with 23 points, he was followed by Tim Barton with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Aaron Zalescik and Jack Flannery followed with Zalescik scoring 11 points and Flannery scoring 10 but also picking up 4 rebounds. The game ended 69-66, but Maritime controlled the game for the last minute or so, but a few bad fouls kept USMMA in the game. Maritime moves to 2-1 in conference play while USMMA moves to 1-2.
