Maritime falls to Nazareth

Nazareth University opened the 2026 season with a 3-1 victory over Maritime College on Sunday, Sept. 6, at Reinhart Field. The Golden Flyers struck just 2:41 into the match on a penalty kick from Tyler Warmington, but Maritime answered before halftime when Jeferson Blanco converted a penalty in the 43rd minute to send the teams into the break tied at 1-1.

The Golden Flyers regained the lead in the 54th minute when Cash Rosado finished a chance created by Warmington. Just over a minute later, Samuel Burton extended the advantage to 3-1, heading home a corner kick from Braden Callahan. Warmington finished with a goal and an assist, while Rosado and Burton each found the net once.

Maritime finished with 13 shots but managed only two on target, with Blanco accounting for four shots and one shot on goal in addition to his penalty-kick goal. Goalkeeper Aidan Slovensky kept the Privateers within striking distance with five saves, while Nazareth goalkeeper Bryan Tirado made one save. Nazareth held an 8-2 advantage in corner kicks and finished with 16 shots compared to Maritime's 13.
