Maritime men's soccer opened its 2026 schedule Wednesday afternoon with an exhibition matchup against Division I Manhattan, falling to the Jaspers, 3-0, at Gaelic Park. The Privateers held Manhattan scoreless through the first 30 minutes, with goalkeeper Aidan Slovensky making several early stops as the Jaspers applied pressure. Manhattan eventually broke through in the 33rd minute when Cristiano Marsilii finished a pass from Pau Mascarell to give the Jaspers a 1-0 lead. Maritime had limited offensive opportunities in the opening half, recording just one shot, while Manhattan generated 10 shots and six corner kicks before halftime.
Manhattan continued to control possession and territory after halftime, but Maritime's defense kept the match within reach for much of the second half. Slovensky remained active in goal and finished with three saves, while the Privateers worked to create chances of their own through Jeferson Blanco, Finn Richmond and Yakob Muller. Manhattan eventually doubled its advantage in the 74th minute when Ziv Dahan scored his third goal of the season, with Marsilii and Dohryien Lee combining on the play. Dahan finished with a team-high four shots, including two on target, as Manhattan continued to pressure the Maritime defense.
The Jaspers added their third goal just under four minutes later when Tycho van Haaren found the back of the net in the 77th minute. Maritime was unable to generate a late response, and Manhattan closed out the 3-0 clean sheet after holding the Privateers without a shot on goal. Manhattan finished with a 15-3 advantage in shots, an 8-0 edge in shots on goal and a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks. Despite the result, the exhibition provided Maritime with an early test against Division I competition before the Privateers begin their regular season Sunday against Nazareth.
