Maritime College men's soccer picked up its first victory of the 2026 season Saturday afternoon, shutting out Hunter College 4-0 at Reinhart Field in Throggs Neck. The Privateers took a 1-0 lead late in the opening half when Jeferson Blanco converted a penalty kick in the 44th minute, giving Maritime the advantage heading into halftime.
Maritime continued to pull away after the break, with Eric Frimpong converting another penalty kick in the 53rd minute to make it 2-0. Carson Sadler added a third goal less than four minutes later, finishing a feed from Georgios Tsatalios, before Tsatalios capped the scoring himself in the 74th minute with a strike from just outside the box.
The Privateers controlled the match throughout, finishing with a 19-9 advantage in shots and putting 13 attempts on target compared with four for Hunter. Maritime also held a 7-1 edge in corner kicks, while its defense limited Hunter to just four shots on goal. Goalkeeper Aidan Slovensky made four saves to secure the shutout, while Hunter goalkeeper Max Tsigalnitsky recorded nine saves.
