Manhattanville University picked up its first victory of the 2026 season Sunday afternoon, defeating Drew University 2-1 at Ranger Stadium in Madison, New Jersey. The Valiants wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, with Nickolas Pagan finding the net just 4:17 into the match off an assist from Alec Pineda. Manhattanville maintained its advantage through halftime, with goalkeeper Dwayne Brown II making an early save on a Drew attempt from Turkcan Curak to help preserve the lead.
Drew increased the pressure after the break, but Manhattanville continued to create chances of its own. Alex Rojas put two shots on target, while Marco Palushaj and Alex Guevara also tested the Rangers' defense. The Valiants eventually doubled their advantage in the 79th minute when Roberto Velasquez-Osorio converted after a saved penalty kick, with Palushaj and Emanuele Ricci credited with assists.
Drew answered just over a minute later when Matt Munoz scored in the 81st minute off an assist from Jayce Palumbo, setting up a tense finish. Manhattanville's defense held firm over the final minutes to secure the 2-1 victory despite Drew finishing with a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. Both teams recorded 11 total shots, but Manhattanville put seven on target compared with three for Drew, while Brown II made two saves and Drew goalkeeper Donovan Friedhoff finished with five.
