Farmingdale State College fell just short of a comeback Sunday afternoon, dropping a 2-1 decision to Eastern Connecticut State University at Rams Field. The Rams controlled much of the opening half and created several opportunities, finishing the first 45 minutes with a 9-5 advantage in shots, but Eastern Connecticut goalkeeper made six saves to keep Farmingdale off the scoreboard. The Warriors broke through in the 32nd minute when Sebastian Kadlof cut in from the right side and fired a 23-yard shot into the top-right corner.
Eastern Connecticut doubled its lead in the 66th minute when Christian Moura finished a deflected cross from close range. Farmingdale responded almost immediately, cutting the deficit in half just 41 seconds later. Josue Corea delivered a cross from the left side of the penalty area to Lucca Noboa at the back post, and Noboa finished the opportunity for his second goal of the season. The Rams continued to push forward in search of an equalizer, with Corea, Noboa and Sebastian Cuenca each recording multiple shots.
Farmingdale finished with a 14-16 disadvantage in total shots but held an 8-6 edge in shots on goal, showing how closely contested the match remained despite Eastern Connecticut holding the lead. Andrew Verdugo made three saves in goal for the Rams, while Farmingdale earned two corner kicks compared with nine for the Warriors. The Rams nearly found the equalizer in the final minute when Christian Russo sent a cross through the box that narrowly missed the left post, allowing Eastern Connecticut to escape with the 2-1 victory.
