SUNY MARITIME COLLEGE
Maritime vs Army-
Maritime played Army on their home court in West Point, NY on November 3rd. Maritime lost the game 73-49, but that does not tell the entire story. Maritime tied the game 5 times and were leading multiple times in the first half. They were led by Jake Devaney who yet again proved he was one of the better players in the Skyline Conference by scoring 18 points and recording 4 rebounds against the division 1 Army team. There were many bright spots for this Maritime team including Evan Bock who recorded a team leading 11 rebounds. Maritime showed up to play and yet again proved why Division 3 is only a few steps behind Division 1. They showed heart and did not look overpowered by the bigger Army squad, this bodes well for Maritime in the coming season, Army will most likely be their toughest opponent of the season and they played with them most of the game. Maritime started Jake Devaney, Tyler Anderson, Evan Block, Zion Williams and Jesse Tricario.

Maritime vs Ramapo-
Maritime suffered a heart-breaking loss to Ramapo. A tough first half only scoring 25 points hurt them in the end, but they had some players step up for them. Sean Kivlan a freshman stepped up and led Maritime with 13 points off the bench. Also off the bench Matthew O’Sullivan brought in 5 rebounds and 6 points, depth is going to be key for Maritime this season with a strong starting 5. From the starters Tyler Anderson had a solid game bringing in 12 points and 2 rebounds and Jake Devaney brought in 11 points and a team leading 14 rebounds. Devaney’s first double-double of the season helped keep Maritime in the game. Zion Williams also contributed 9 points, although he had a tough shooting game it is clear Coach Barnes has confidence in him. Maritime started Tyler Anderson, Jake Devaney, Zion Williams, Jesse Triacario and Evan Block.

SUNY FARMINGDALE COLLEGE
Suny Farmingdale vs Stony Brook University-
This Division 3 vs Division 1 match up proved to be a good one. Farmingdale proved why they are one of the favorites to win the Skyline Conference. Although Farmingdale lost 66-59, they managed to outscore Stony Brook in the second half. Farmingdale was led by Michael Notias with 16 points and 8 rebounds. He was joined by Sean Conroy and Dylan Stanley both contributing 10 points. They also had good contributions off the bench with Derek Reed bringing in 4 point, 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Farmingdale proved to be a tough opponent for Stony Brook, Farmingdale was extremely efficient on offense especially in the 2nd half and on defense they held Stony Brook to just 66 points total. Farmingdale started Michael Notias, Sean Conroy, Kentrell Evans, Liam Buckley and Michael Spisto.

St. Joseph University (Brooklyn)
St. Joseph University vs Manhattan University-
Coach Etheart opens up his coaching career against Division 1 Manhattan University. Although the game was lopsided St. Joseph’s showed good signs for their season. One good sign was Colin Mills who managed to rattle off 19 points leading the team overall. Other key contributors included Jacob Idowu who scored 11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists, Warren Nazareth and Timothy Richardson both scored 6 points and Richardson recorded 3 rebounds. St. Joes also proved they can score putting up 59 points against a division 1 school, but their defense continues to be a problem bleeding over from last season. We will see what adjustments they make after this game, and how the new Coach gets this team ready for Skyline Play. St. Joseph’s started Colin Mills, Jacob Idowu, Austin Wrynn, Adam Jasaraj and Justin Nazon.

Merchant Marine Academy
Merchant Marine vs Sacred Heart-
Merchant Marine opened up against Sacred Heart in an exhibition game. Merchant Marine was out matched losing 103-46 struggling on both sides of the ball against their division 1 opponent. Tim Barton gave them some life scoring 18 points and racking up 4 assists. AA few positive take aways from Merchant Marines performance was their 3-point efficiency, they shot 40% from behind the arc which is key in todays Skyline Conference. Other notable performances include Jack Flannery who scored 13 points and had 3 rebounds, and Aaron Zalescik who led the team with 7 rebounds. Merchant Marine started Tim Barton, Jack Flannery, Mason Lavergne, Aaron Zalescik and Colin Heart.

SUNY Old Westbury vs NYU-
Old Westbury opened up against NYU, they struggled defensively allowing NYU to score 89 points. They lost 49-87, a big reason for that was the 10 turnovers they had giving NYU easy fast break points. Their 5 starters carried most of the scoring load with Jermaine King Jr. scoring 12 points and recording a team high 4 assists. Joel Ofori had a big game scoring 9 points but recording a team high 6 rebounds. Other notable performances came from Imole Akinwale who scored 10 points and recorded 2 rebounds, Yigit Balta who scored 6 points and 3 rebounds and finally Bradley Young who scored 5 points and 3 rebounds. SUNY Old Westbury started Jermaine King Jr., Imole Akinwale, Joel Ofori, Yigit Balta and Bradley Young.

SUNY Old Westbury continues to struggle defensively as they lose to Saint Josephs College of Maine 100-62. They have now allowed over 80 points in both of their first 2 games, but there are some bright signs from this game. Christian Thomas came out and put up 19 points and 6 rebounds along with Jermaine King Jr. who adds another double-digit scoring game to his season putting up 16 points against Saint Josephs. Other contributors include Joel Ofori with 11 points and a team leading 6 rebounds, Bradley Young who had 5 rebounds and off the bench Ahmad Sackor and Malek Ibrahem gave meaningful minutes helping Old Westbury build its depth. Old Westbury started Christian Thomas, Jermain King Jr., Joel Ofori, Yigit Balta, and Bradley Young.

Mount Saint Vincent vs Oswego State-
Mount Saint Vincent opened up against a very tough opponent Oswego State. They Struggled Defensively allowing 106 points giving up over 50 points in each half. They had some bright spots offensively getting contributions from way down their bench. Depth is going to be key for this season and a major option off the bench for them is Gerard Novello who led the team with 14 points, off the bench he was joined by James Bolton with 6 points and 6 rebounds. Key contributors include Aidan McCahey who scored 12 points, Joel Gado who scored 8 points but led the team with 11 rebounds, Eric Woodberry who brought in 7 points and 7 rebounds. UMSV started Aidan McCahey, Joel Gado, Eric Woodberry, Louis Vidal and Blake Salice-Mitchell.

Mount Saint Vincent vs SUNY Polytechnic Institute-
UMSV continues their defensive struggles allowing 90 points to this talented SUNY Polytechnic team, but UMSV showed heart especially Joel Gado who brought in 30 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Joel Gado and Eric Woodberry were the only 2 players in double digits accounting for more than half of the teams’ points. Woodberry brought in 15 points and 6 rebounds, they were also helped with Blake Salice- Mitchell bringing in 5 rebounds. They lost the game 90-64 but showed heart, they will have to figure out their defensive woes if they are to make a run this season.

Mount Saint Mary’s vs Fordham-
Mount Saint Mary’s was defeated 106-37 in this Division 3 vs Division 1 game. Mount Saint Mary’s was able to get a ton of players into the game playing meaningful minutes. They had some impressive performances off the bench including Liam Lynch and Brody Schuh who led the team in scoring. The teams’ starters included Justin Rivera, J.P Egan, Matthew Walsh, Connor Gemmill and Brenden Graham. These games offer a great opportunity for both teams to practice their sets and get meaningful minutes to players off the bench.

Mount Saint Mary’s vs Hunter College-
Mount Saint Mary’s gets their first win against Hunter College 71-58. They entered the second half trailing by 3 but mounted a stellar turn around and outscored Hunter College by 16 in the second half. Their starting five came to play this game led by Justin Rivera with 19 points and 2 rebounds. Brenden Graham had 9 points and 4 assists, Matthew Walsh had 8 points and 3 rebounds, Conner Gemmill had 8 points and 5 rebounds and finally J.P Egan had 7 points and a team leading 7 rebounds. They record their first win against Hunter and will look to take this momentum into the future. Their starters were solid and they had key contributions off the bench adding depth to the team. The starters included Justin Rivera, Brenden Graham, Matthew Walsh, Connor Gemmill and J.P Egan.

SUNY Purchase vs Kean-
Purchase fell to Kean College this week losing by just 4 points after a solid start. Purchase led by 6 going into half but had a tough time on defense in the second half giving up 38 points. Nate Maldonado led purchase with 11 points and 3 rebounds off the bench. Maurice Western and Trey Skeete both scored 10 points and western also brought in a key 6 assists. Sean Holzman and Desmond Ward proved to be forces on the boards with each recording 5 or more rebounds. Purchase started Maurice Western, Trey Skeete, Sean Holzman, Desmond Ward and Antuan Darden.

Manhattanville
Manhattanville vs Mitchell College-
Manhattanville pulled out a stellar win over Mitchell College this past week. The Manhattanville Valliant’s won a nail biter 77-74, they had a 10-point lead going into the second half but squandered it forcing them to rely on their offense to outscore the red-hot Mitchell College team. Manhattanville was led by 2 players who both scored 24 points, first Andrew Saint-Louis who also had 7 rebounds, second Isiah Middleton who had a whopping 9 rebounds in addition to his 24 points. They also were helped by Chris Robinson who poured in 17 points and 3 rebounds. Manhattanville proved they can score against the best of teams, but it will be interesting to see how their defense can improve over the course of the season, they gave up a concerning 46 points in the second half. Manhattanville started Andrew Saint-Louis, Isiah Middleton, Chris Robinson, Carlos Urena and John Ranaghan.

Sarah Lawrence vs Immaculata University-
Sarah Lawrence was out matched by Immaculata’s team right from the start. Sarah Lawrence couldn’t find it defensively giving up 60 points in the fist half. Offensively they we very effective scoring 83 points and having multiple players scoring in the double digits. They were led by Thomas Matonti who had 13 points and 3 rebounds, he was followed by Chris Dougherty and Aiden Morel who both contributed 12 points each. Andrew Kim and Elias Flaim both scored 10 points, but Kim contributed 4 rebounds and 5 assists. On the boards Dean Furlong was dominate with 11 rebounds. All of this wasn’t enough to keep up with the volume scoring of Immaculata. Sarah Lawrence started Thomas Matonti, Chris Dougherty, Andrew Kim, Braden Burman and Dean Furlong.

Sarah Lawrence gets a big win over Bard, both sides of the ball played exceptionally well for them holding Bard to just 56 points. Andrew Kim continues to prove he is a leader on the court scoring 17 points and also 6 rebounds and 6 assists. He was helped by Braden Burman and Aiden Morel who both scored 14 points, Morel off the bench also recorded 6 rebounds. Rebounding was key to their success and they were led by Chris Dougherty who had 11 rebounds, then Dean Furlong who recorded 7 rebounds. Sarah Lawrence put together a strong game and drastically improved their defense after their last game. Sarah Lawrence started Thomas Matonti, Chris Dougherty, Andrew Kim, Braden Burman and Dean Furlong.
